March 31 NVBA Meeting – Marty Fuhry and Max Runzel – Mobile Apps for Recording Hive Inspections

  • 31 Mar 2026
  • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Mobile Apps for Recording Hive Inspections

Marty Fuhry has been keeping bees for about eight years, starting with backyard hives and working up to a full AZ beehouse. By day he is a software developer with more than twenty years of experience. When he could not find a beekeeping app that felt simple, modern, and worthy of the craft, he built one; and HiveBloom was born.

HiveTracks is a mobile app that helps beekeepers improve hive health while generating environmental data for biodiversity research and climate insight. The platform converts beekeeper observations, hive data, and ecological interactions into usable environmental analytics. Max Rünzel is the CEO & Co‑Founder of HiveTracks. Previously he worked with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the Consortium of International Agricultural Research Centers.
