Impacts of Viruses on Honey Bees at the Colony, Individual and Cellular Level

Michelle will talk about how viruses affect pollinators, how Virologists study them, and ways beekeepers can best protect  colonies from infection. She will also blend in some very interesting plant virus interactions helpful to the beekeeper. 

Dr. Michelle Flenniken is a Professor in the Plant Sciences Department at Montana State University. She is a Microbiologist investigating Honey Bee host-pathogen interactions. She is Co-Director of the Pollinator Health Center at MSU.
