March 26 NVBA Meeting - The Interactive Impacts of Pesticides and Poor Nutrition on Honey Bees - Dr Priya Basu

Dr Priya Basu, Assistant Professor, Pollinator Health and Apiculture at Mississippi State University will discuss the role of sterols in honey bee nutrition and the impact of pesticides on honey bee nutrition. Sterols are essential nutrients for bees which are thought to be obtained exclusively from pollen.

Dr. Basu is working on a project to build a pollen database to catalog the nutrition profiles of over 100 bee-pollinated plants throughout the U.S. and Canada.

She is member of Entomological Society of America.
